Weekly market or jumble sale

We love to visit the markets - there are so many available here at Majorca. You just shall decide, which kind of market: fruits- and veggie, a market with animals, a jumble or a art-market. But be aware, sometimes there is no difference between a jumble- or a art-market.

Saturday morning you will find a jumble-market at the avenidas (streets) of Palma and sunday morning in Consell (end of the village, left) and in Inca a art-market, combined with a Fiesta, which every village or city do have minimum once a year. On Wednesday morning you will find a market in Sa Coma and in all villages you have a weekly-market on 1 - 2 days during the week. Of course you can find on these weekly markets not only fruits or veggis, more over you can buy jewellery, bags, clothings, plants, household goods, african art and a lot of oddities or things you never need.

Sineu has the biggest market (Wednesday morning). Here you really can find "everything", as well animals. Weekly markets you find Saturday moring in Soller/Manacor /Cala Ratjada /Alaro, Sunday morning in Alcudia/Consell /Inca/ Llucmajor/Muro /Santa Maria /Valldemossa , one of the most beautiful one is in Pollensa (a beutiful village even if there is no market). Just study the "Mallorca Newsletter" and you will find all dates and places where to go.

The dos: Monday in Manacor, Tuesday in Alcudia /Arta /S'Arenal, Wednesday in Andratx/Capdepera /Llucmajor/Port de Pollensa, Thursday in Inca /S'Arenal/ Ses Salines, Friday in Can Picafort/Inca /Son Servera /Llucmajor .(always morning till approx. 2.00 p.m.).

For a brake you will always find a coffee bar to have a drink or a small snack in the shadow of old houses or a tree around.

And one safe bet: don´t leave valueables in your car and always take attention on your wallet. Opportunity makes a thief!

Beach life and Kite surfing

How it seems, to become a great day at the beach? Minimum 23 degrees, sun, a little bit wind and enough drinks, some snacks and the daily newspaper or a interesting book?

The Kite-surfer get the right wind on particular day-times in the bay of Pollensa. Today it was great, the beach was filled up with Kite-surfers and the colored  sails were fluttering in the wind. Passing by tourist have a stop for a picture. On this part of the beach in Pollensa, people, all of the world are meeting to kite or to talk each other to get the newest sport-news, to eat together or have a drink and enjoy just the sun and the great bay-view.

It is a great fun, to train this sport, which looks very easy, how they drive and jump through the waves, sometimes easygoing with one hand. And exactly here, it is possible for you, to make your lessons, in a individual course. Either you take some hours, to "snuffle", if this sport is fun for you, or some lessons more, with perfect equipment and a professional teacher (please klick to our kite-side).

But you are also welcome, just to watch, have a walk on the sandy beach. If you want to enjoy swimming go to Playa de Muro or Son Serra di Marina. A beautiful white beach is waiting for you. If you prefer naturism, you will find some steps south of Son Sierra a relaxed nudism-aera.

Majorca today

A lovely time in Majorca. Use the forenoon, to explorer the island. The sun is shining, but not too hot as in the afternoon. Don´t forget the sunprotection - specially for your kids!

For reasonable prices you can rent rooms, flats, chalets and of course fincas and villas, to enjoy a memorable holiday. Here, the North of Majorca, is more quiet and not swarming by tourists too much. But of course, you can meet people from all of the world, and might be even a well-known singer or actor in one of the beach-cafes, bars, restaurants or during your shopping.

You could choose out of  numerous hiking and walking-tours, to enjoy the great nature, the mountains and the incredible seaviews. For a start, we suggest a more easy walking tour, from Puerto Pollensa, pass by the Castell, through valley of Boquer to Cala (bay) Boquer. You need solid shoes and a snack. If you like, you could share your snack with the goats on your way.

The parking by the the Castell is easy to find. Drive from Alcudia to Puerto Pollensa, 1. street-circle (straight) to ring-street of Formentor, afterwards always straight, till you will see a slightly heightened "Castell" (old, bigger house) on your left side. Here you can park your car and start your walk, depending on your speed, approx. 40 minutes. Have fun and enjoy!
